Allen College


Allen College awarded 55 degrees at its commencement ceremony on Friday, August 11 at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Allen College conferred 15 Bachelor of Health Sciences degrees, 27 Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees, 11 Master of Science of Nursing degrees and two Doctor of Nursing Practice degrees.

The speaker for Allen College’s summer commencement was Dr. Jared Seliger. Dr. Seliger joined Allen College in 2008 to develop the Nuclear Medicine Technology program and has been in that role since joining the college. In 2015, he was named Associate Chancellor of the college. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Loras College, a certificate in Nuclear Medicine Technology from the University of Iowa, a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Northern Iowa, and a Ph.D. in educational leadership from Iowa State University. Dr. Seliger grew up in Jesup, Iowa and currently lives in Hudson with his wife, Miranda, an Allen College alumnus, and their daughter Tenley.

Allen College offers degrees in both health sciences and nursing. Approximately 630 students enrolled at the College this fall. Information on Allen College is available at
