Area Students Graduate From Allen College
Allen College awarded 86 degrees at its commencement ceremony on Friday, December 16 at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The college conferred 56 Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees and 30 Master of Science of Nursing degrees.
The speaker for Allen College’s fall commencement was Quentin Hart. Quentin Hart is serving his first term as Mayor for the City of Waterloo. Previously, he was the Associate Director of Multicultural Affairs at Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo. In 2006, Hart became the Director and Founder of From the Heart - Waterloo Home Enhancement Project. This 100% volunteer housing project works to improve homes for residents that are elderly, financially challenged, or physically disabled. Mayor Hart is also involved with a number of other local, state and national boards such as Iowa Commission on Aging, the Iowa Department of Education - Equity Leadership Team, National Alliance for Partnerships in Equity, to name a few.
Allen College offers degrees in both health sciences and nursing. Over 600 students enrolled at the College this spring. Information on Allen College is available at www.allencollege.edu.
