Allen College is an independent not-for-profit college that educates nursing and other allied health professionals. The college campus is located in the mid-sized city of Waterloo in northeast Iowa. Allen College was established in 1989 and its development is traced back to the formation of the Allen Memorial Hospital Nurses Training School in 1925.

Allen College currently offers academic programs in nursing, radiography, medical laboratory science, nuclear medicine technology and diagnostic medical sonography.

The School of Health Sciences offers the following degrees:

• Associate of Science in Radiography
• Bachelor of Health Sciences
  • Diagnostic Medical Sonography (certificate also available)
  • Medical Laboratory Science
  • Nuclear Medicine Technology (certificate also available)

The School of Nursing offers the following degrees:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Master of Science in Nursing
• Doctor of Nursing Practice

Allen College has developed partnerships with the University of Northern Iowa (Cedar Falls, Iowa), Hawkeye Community College (Waterloo, Iowa), Wartburg College (Waverly, Iowa), Loras College (Dubuque, Iowa) and Central College (Pella, IA) for general education instruction. The strengths of the clinical learning components offered by Allen College are then able to be combined with the academic excellence of these partners so that the educational experience is maximized for students.
