LPN-BSN cohorts begin each fall.

The LPN-BSN Option allows Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to advance their level of nursing knowledge and skill through the completion of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The program is offered during the evening and weekends, providing educational access to working students. Upon completion of the prescribed general education coursework, candidates will progress through the seven semester plan.

Students must complete a minimum of 124 semester hours of coursework to earn the degree Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Students must complete a minimum of 57 semester hours of general education coursework as outlined in the plan of study, including a minimum of:

• 15 hours in the humanities
• 12 hours in the social sciences
• 18 hours in the natural sciences and mathematics
• 12 hours of general electives (including a 3 credit diversity course)

Students attend other regionally accredited colleges and universities to complete the general education component of the plan of study. Students are required to complete a minimum of 67 semester hours of nursing coursework.  This includes 20 semester hours of validation credit for the LPN (awarded after successful completion of NU240, LPN-BSN Bridge and NU285, Health Assessment for the LPN) and 47 semester hours of nursing coursework completed at Allen College.
