Allen College Reaches Another Record Enrollment

February 15, 2013

WATERLOO, Iowa — A record 610 students are enrolled at Allen College for spring semester 2013, an 11-percent increase from a record enrollment of 551 students in fall semester 2012.

The College reports large growth in its graduate program, where 197 students are enrolled, a 19-percent increase from 166 students last fall. These students are enrolled in either the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Post-Graduate Certificate or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) programs.

In response to increased enrollment, Winter Hall opened on the Allen College campus in August 2012. Winter Hall is the third building on campus. The 19,500-square-foot facility includes two 75-seat lecture halls, two 35-seat classrooms and faculty offices. It connects Barrett Forum and Gerard Hall, the first two academic buildings on campus.

Offering nursing education since 1925, Allen College became a degree-granting institution in 1989. In addition to its graduate programs, Allen College offers Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Associate of Science in Radiography (ASR) and Bachelor of Health Sciences (BHS) programs.
