Two Nursing Faculty Achieve ARNP Certification

Two Allen College associate professors of nursing, JoEllen Kubik and Zoe Schaefer, have passed national certification examinations to become advanced registered nurse practitioners (ARNPs). Professor Kubik passed the examination for practice as an adult psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioner, while professor Schaefer passed the family nurse practitioner examination. Both national certification examinations are sponsored by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Professor Kubik previously completed a B.S.N. degree at Mount Mercy College, a master’s degree in mental health counseling at the University of Northern Iowa, and a master’s degree in nursing at Allen College.
Professor Schaefer holds a diploma in nursing from Allen Memorial Hospital School of Nursing; a bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa, a master’s degree in nursing from Allen College, and a post-master's certificate, also from Allen College.
