Curriculum - Degree Options

A student must earn a minimum of 124 credit hours to earn the Bachelor of Health Sciences Degree.

  • General Education Course: 85 hours
  • Nuclear Medicine Technology Courses: 39 credit hours

General Education Requirements:

A minimum of 85 credit hours in required general education coursework must be completed prior to enrollment at Allen College. Students attend a regionally accredited institution of their choice to complete the general education courses.

  • Humanities: (9 credits)
    • Intermediate Written Communication (3 credit hours)
    • Oral Communications (3 credit hours)
    • Humanities Elective (3 credit hours)
      Defined by Allen College as Art, Music, Theater, Dance, English, Foreign Language, Philosophy, History, Cultures, Civilization, Literature, Religion, Economics, and Communication Arts.
  • Social Science: (15 credits)
    • Sociology (3 credit hours)
    • Psychology (3 credit hours)
    • Social Science Electives (9 credit hours)
      Defined by Allen College as Geography, History, Political Science, Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Family Services, Management, Anthropology, and Criminology
  • Natural Sciences and Mathematics: (21 credit hours) 
    • Anatomy & Physiology with Lab (6 credit hours)
    • Chemistry with lab (3 credit hours)
    • General Physics (3 credit hours)
    • Statistics (3 credit hours)
    • Natural Science and Mathematics Electives (6 credit hours)
  • General Elective Requirements: (40 credits: 3 credits must be classified as a diversity elective)

Nuclear Medicine Technology:

A minimum of 39 credit hours in required Nuclear Medicine Technology coursework must be completed at Allen College.
