Information for Current Imaging Professionals and Radiography Students Interested in Bachelor’s Degrees

Allen College offers three tracks for credentialed radiographers, sonographers, and nuclear medicine technologists who want to complete a bachelor’s degree. Additionally, students who enter the Allen College Associate of Science in Radiography (ASR) program can transition to one of these programs after completing their degree and required general education coursework.

  1. Public Health – Health Care Leadership
    100% Online. This bachelor’s degree is for any health professional interested in leadership, administration, or pursing a graduate degree. Students will learn how to impact change in health status at the population level. Additionally, classes cover the U.S. Health system, health policy, and research methodology.

    The program offers the following plans of study:

    • One-year full time
    • Two-year part time
    • Certificate option

    The certificate program is for those who already have a bachelor’s degree and are interested in learning more about public health. Visit the Public Health – Health Care Leadership page for more information.

  2. Medical Imaging
    All coursework is online except for clinical externship requirements. This Medical Imaging bachelor’s program has two tracks: Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).

    The program offers the following plans of study:

    • One-year full time
    • Two-year part time
    • Certificate option

  3. Diagnostic Medical Sonography
    This is a 21-month full-time general concentration sonography program designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in the field.

    The DMS program offers two completion options:

    1. Bachelor of Health Sciences Degree

Applicants may be eligible for scholarships, Pell grants, Iowa tuition grant, student loans, and other forms of financial aid. Employees of UnityPoint Health, Waverly Health Center, Wheaton-Franciscan Health, and Cedar Valley Medical Specialists may be eligible for a tuition discount.
