Dr. Stone earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Northern Iowa, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Allen College. She began her nursing career working on medical-surgical units and later served as a nurse and case manager in hospice care. She went on to earn a Master of Science in Nursing with a focus in Nursing Education from Allen College and subsequently completed a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Nursing Education and Leadership at Clarke University. Since joining the faculty at Allen College, she has taught across a range of subjects including mental health, palliative care, older adults, informatics, health care delivery, and nursing fundamentals. She is a member of the American Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau International, and has served as a counselor for the Pi Kappa Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International.

What do you enjoy most about teaching at Allen College?
I enjoy watching students grow and develop over the course of the semesters. It is rewarding to see students start connecting the dots and begin to grow into the role of the nurse.
