Dr. Peters joined the Allen College School of Nursing faculty in 2012 Prior to this position, she worked as a registered nurse in various medical and surgical settings. She also worked as the Professional Development Coordinator for UnityPoint Health – Allen Hospital. She holds a Doctor of Education (EdD) in Health Professions Education from Allen College, a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Allen College, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Iowa and an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from Indian Hills Community College. Dr. Peters has pursued additional certification in simulation, completing a post-graduate certificate in simulation education from Bryan College of Health Sciences. Her teaching responsibilities include pathophysiology, adult medical-surgical nursing, as well as nursing leadership and research.

What do you enjoy most about teaching at Allen College?
I enjoy the warm and welcoming environment at Allen College. The faculty and staff at Allen want students to be successful and provide various ways of learning. There are a variety of community events for students to participate in and social gatherings.
