Professor Coleman has been a nursing professor since 2001, following the completion of a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) at the University of Iowa. She spent the first 20 years of her academic career teaching in a BSN program in Arkansas before relocating to Iowa and joining the faculty at Allen College in 2020. Her areas of expertise include health assessment and pediatric nursing. Throughout her career, she has taught a wide range of nursing courses in both online and in-person formats. She maintains active certifications in pediatric nursing and nursing education. She is dedicated to student engagement and committed to promoting excellence in nursing education.
